We believe that you deserve a smile that is the best it can be. At the cosmetic and restorative dentistry practice of John S. Grisham, DDS, we offer a range of advanced dental technologies to help make your dental care as comfortable, convenient, and effective as possible. Some of the most advanced technologies, such as CEREC® for dental crowns, and ClearCorrect™ clear braces, are now available at his Littleton practice, also serving Hanover, New Hampshire, and St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Dr. Grisham strives to bring his patients the best in dental care by continuing to add the latest technologies to his practice.
ClearCorrect™ is a revolutionary way for our patients to straighten their teeth without noticeable and uncomfortable metal braces. ClearCorrect™ utilizes a series of aligners to gradually guide the teeth into their proper alignment. These aligners are made of strong, clear plastic, making them virtually undetectable. Unlike metal braces, ClearCorrect™ aligners have no wires or brackets on which your lips or gums can snag, and they can be removed for eating and brushing. And unlike other types of clear braces, ClearCorrect™ resists the clouding that can occur from wear. With all of these benefits, it’s no wonder that ClearCorrect™ is a popular option for clear braces at our Littleton, New Hampshire practice for patients who want to straighten their teeth and remake their smiles.
To begin treatment with ClearCorrect™, you will first visit us for an evaluation so that Dr. Grisham can examine your teeth and determine whether ClearCorrect™ is a suitable option for you. If you are a good candidate, he will take tooth impressions and design a ClearCorrect™ treatment plan for you. Your tooth impressions will then be sent to the ClearCorrect™ laboratory so that your customized series of aligners can be crafted.
The aligners fit over your teeth and are to be worn at all times except while eating, drinking, and caring for your teeth. You will wear each aligner for two weeks, and then replace it with the next in your series until your teeth are aligned, which typically takes from 9 to 18 months. During your treatment with ClearCorrect™ clear braces, you will visit Dr. Grisham’s Littleton, New Hampshire practice about every six weeks for a check-up.
Although restoring damaged or discolored teeth with porcelain restorations used to require multiple appointments, we are now able to complete treatment in a single visit! Instead of waiting for a dental laboratory to craft your dental restoration, we use CEREC® 3D, an impressive technology which allows your restorative dental work, including dental crowns and inlays and onlays, to be completed in just one appointment.
Inlays, onlays, and dental crowns can be made using CEREC® 3D right here in our Littleton, New Hampshire office. Once we have prepared your tooth for the restoration, we make digital impressions of the area. The CEREC® 3D machine uses this digital image to design a custom restoration that precisely matches the shade of your surrounding teeth. The machine then mills the restoration to these exact specifications so that it perfectly fits your prepared tooth. After a few moments, your dental crown, inlay, or onlay is ready and Dr. Grisham bonds the new restoration to your tooth.
With proper dental care, your CEREC®-made restorations will be a long-lasting part of your beautiful smile. To learn more about one-visit inlays, onlays, and dental crowns with CEREC® 3D, contact our Littleton dental practice, also serving Hanover, New Hampshire and St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
We are proud to offer digital X-rays at our practice to enhance our patients’ safety. Although the risk of exposure to radiation is very small with normal X-rays, digital X-rays limit exposure by up to 90 percent. Additionally, digital X-rays help you be more informed about your dental health. They produce a high-quality image almost immediately that is transmitted to a computer screen so that Dr. Grisham can review them with you. He is able to explain any problems while you see them for yourself on the screen, and together you can decide on the treatment options that are right for you.
The DIAGNOdent® laser is a powerful technology that helps ensure your dental health. Using the power and precision of laser technology, DIAGNOdent® reveals areas of decay that are not easily visible to the naked eye. This diagnostic tool allows us to find cavities and tooth decay early, and treat them before they develop into larger problems. It also makes cavities hidden in tooth crevices easier to find. Earlier detection means less damage, more effective treatment, and less pain.
If you are thinking about undergoing a cosmetic dentistry procedure to enhance your smile, computer imaging can give you a preview of what you may look like after treatment. Using a digital photo and special computer software, Dr. Grisham can show you how options such as teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, dental crowns, or ClearCorrect™ can improve your smile. At his Littleton, New Hampshire practice, Dr. Grisham also uses computer imaging to help you select the procedures that are right for you and helps make cosmetic dentistry more fun by helping you visualize the dramatic transformations that can be achieved.
The intraoral camera is a powerful diagnostic tool that Dr. Grisham uses during examinations to identify potential dental problems that might not be visible to the naked eye. This tiny camera is inserted into the patient’s mouth and takes pictures of the teeth and gums. These images are then displayed on a computer screen so that both you and Dr. Grisham can examine them. You are also able to view areas of the mouth that Dr. Grisham is working on so that procedures become more understandable. The system comes with software that provides clear and accurate data about treatments so that the best course of action can be selected.
For Laser Periodontal Therapy™ (LPT), Dr. Grisham relies on PerioLase® MVP-7, laser technology designed to enhance the efficacy of treatment for all stages of gum disease. LPT™ with PerioLase® provides proven long-lasting results with a shorter recovery time, often less than 24 hours. PerioLase® closes blood vessels and nerve endings, decreasing your risk of infection, while allowing your body to regenerate healthy replacement tissue. PerioLase® is a versatile, Nd:YAG laser designed specifically for soft and hard tissue procedures. In just two, two-hour treatment sessions, PerioLase® painlessly removes diseased gum tissue, making way for healthy tissue to grow.
